2018 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship
My Summer of Golf continued last week at Baltusrol in New Jersey, covering the U.S. Junior Amateur for the United States Golf Association. Now before you get the wrong idea from the word "junior," these are not your average little kids playing golf. That is, unless you consider a 16 year-old a "little kid," and him reaching a 615-yard par 5 in 2 by hitting driver-driver an "average" accomplishment...
Also, consider this:
A kid named Woods won this thing three times in the ‘90s.
A kid named Spieth won this thing twice in the last 10 years.
A kid named MIchael Thornbjornsen won this thing this year, beating a kid named Akshay Bhatia 1-Up. I have a feeling those names will be just as familiar to a lot of you a couple years from now.
